During the Gateway to University Honors course, I learned what it took to be part of the University Honors Program. I learned about the many different types of honors experiences one could have, as well as about the many different things one could get involved in on campus. I created a personal portfolio onto which I uploaded many different documents that displayed what I did during this course.
One such documentation, provided below, is the reflection on my passions and interests. In it I reflected on why I was interested in cultures and languages. Another form of documentation, which is also provided below, was my mock proposal. This second document gave me a chance to practice writing proposals on self-designed honors experiences I might decide to do in the future.
Before this course, I was really interested in doing a self-designed Honors experience, but I didn’t know how to create a proposal. Now, after creating a mock one, I am confident that I will be able to successfully design and complete a self-designed Honors experience. I am excited to see the many different self-designed projects that I can experience, as well as the many different things I can do through the Honors Program. Using all of the information I gained from this Gateway to University Honors course, I hope to successfully complete my University Honors Program requirements.

Reflection on Personal Passions/Interests
The University Honors Program desires students to not only experience and pursue passions and interests, but it also wants students to understand why they are doing so. The document below discusses one of my passions and interests, how I am pursuing it, and what I plan to do with it by answering the questions: What?, So What? and What Now?.

Honors Experiential Learning Project Proposal
Every Honors scholar must complete five Honors experiences by the end of their college career. This document is a proposal for a self-designed Honors experience. It centers on living in South Korea for a year through an exchange program, and how that aligns it self with the Global Studies Thematic of the University Honors Program.
